Waterloo Station opens as part of Australia’s largest-ever infrastructure project

John McAslan + Partners has completed a new station on Sydney Metro’s North West & Bankstown Line.

The completion coincides with the opening of several new stations on the rapidly expanding Sydney Metro, which is described as Australia’s largest-ever infrastructure project. When the current phase of expansion is completed, the network will have 31 stations and 66 km of track.

Waterloo Station occupies an entire city block at the centre of the Waterloo Metro Quarter. The architects worked with local artists to reflect the area’s identity in the station’s design.
