Government to review Conservative’s ‘entirely fictional’ timeline for New Hospital Programme

Health secretary describes existing £20bn plan as “undeliverable”

The new health secretary has ordered officials to review the £20bn programme to build 40 new hospitals after describing the current timeline as ”not deliverable”.

Speaking in the House of Commons earlier this week, Wes Streeting accused the previous Conservative government of handing over an “entirely fictional timetable and an unfunded programme” for the New Hospital Programme.
