Regular readers of Building Design will have noticed the considerable number of news stories about big schemes proposed in the City of London over the past year or two. It has seemed as though a shiny new tower or high-end refurbishment has been unveiled by developers or approved by councillors almost every week. Planning applications to the City of London Corporation were up 25% year on year at the end of 2023, and the pace only seems to be increasing.
