Official says designs with ‘holes’ can receive approval in some circumstances
A leading figure at the Building Safety Regulator has confirmed high-rise residential blocks do not always need to have a complete design under the Building Safety Act in order to receive building control approval.
Under new rules coming in this April, designs will have to be receive building control approval at gateway 2 - a “hard stop” which replaces the deposit of plans stage.
